Look for Less: Lucite Heel Sandals

Although we're still scraping salt off of our winter shoes, I'm already dreaming of springtime footwear -- specifically, of Lucite heel shoes and sandals. When I think of Lucite heels, I think of the glamorous women's footwear styles of the 1950s, like the strappy sandals Marilyn Monroe wore in How to Marry a Millionaire (1953). But since their mid-twentieth-century heyday, clear heels have been more often associated with erotic dancers and pageant contestants then fashionable stylesetters. Within the past five years, though, Lucite heels have been making a comeback, likely because the transparent soles really elongate legs.

Try this enduring shoe style for yourself with super chic Lucite heel sandals at low and high prices, from Jeffrey Campbell's Soiree Heel (left, $122.00, NastyGal.com) to Maison Martin Margiela's Suede Lucite-Heel Sandals (right, $1,290.00, Saks.com).

S.S.W. Asks: Would YOU wear these Lucite heels this spring?
