Confession: After twenty-some-odd-years, I've grown weary of wearing sequins on New Year's Eve. This year, I'm opting for color-changing iridescent clothes and accessories instead, like Cynthia Rowley's iridescent dress (above, $410.00, Saks.com).
I'm not the first to abandon standard styles for an iridescent fashion (or two). In 1910, for example, The New York Times reported that the then newly-popular iridescent chiffon gowns "are very lovely, and give a welcome relief from all that has been. The majority of women are tired of having solid colors for evening."
If you too want a luminous New Year's look, shop the iridescent dresses and accessories (at splurge and steal prices!) in the below slideshow.
