Look for Less: Bow-Print Dresses

Friday, March 1

Spring is in the air! After many chilly months, temperatures are finally rising in New York. With nature's rebirth usually comes a slew of happy occasions, like birthdays, baby showers, bridal showers, weddings, and anniversaries. Crista and I believe in investing in a one or two great party dresses at the start of each season -- dresses will look great now and in years to come. But how much of a splurge is too much? I ask this question as I compare RED Valentino's price-y Bow-Print Faille Dress (left, $695.00) to Kate Spade's slightly more wallet-friendly Bow Tie Cora Dress (right, $398.00).

S.S.W. Asks: Which would YOU choose?

In this case, even though it's twice as much, I think I'd go with the Valentino RED dress. From far away, the Kate Spade dress sort of looks like dog bones. And I like dogs, but I don't want to wear their snacks on my dress!

Hi just found your blog! Can't pick between the two, I love them both :) of course I'ld love to splurge on the valentino but I'd be super happy with the duplicate. Great post.
