Chic on the Cheap: Narciso Rodriguez for Kohl's

Narciso Rodriguez's Kohl's line hit stores and today. (You may remember hearing about this collaboration... well, everywhere, including here.) The weather is downright frightful in New York City, so I was unable to hoof it over my nearest Kohl's store, but did check out the collection online. There are many nice basics -- knit dresses, cozy sweaters and the like -- and a few stand out pieces as well, like this Lurex Tweed Coat ($105.00). This coat has lightly padded shoulders and a covered placket for a tailored look, with lurex stitching for a bit of shine. We deem it a style that will stay chic for years to come.

S.S.W. Asks: Did you shop Narciso Rodriguez for Kohl's?

P.S. Crista and I thank those of you who expressed concern for our hometown of Staten Island, which was devastated in Hurricane Sandy, on our last post. Given the devastation in our area, we debated whether or not to resume blogging. Is it right to think about fashion when so many of members of our community are without necessities? (Let's face it: Fashion is not a necessity; clothing is.) After much contemplation and recognizing that our website is enjoyed by people around the world, we decided to resume writing. Though we have returned to posting, we remain committed to helping Staten Island during this difficult time and encourage you, if you can, to do the same. For more information on how to help, please click here.

That looks like it's going to be an amazing collection! I really like your blog! It would be nice if you could stop by my blog sometime too (I'm from England) as I post my outfits, likes and more. Also, if you wanted to follow each other on FB, just let me know and I would be happy to! :) :)

i just bought 3 things. i have to say i love the 3 things i bought but some of the items i tried on were just poorly done. the sewing lines were off in the color block cardigan. the white block pencil skirt was a disappointment because the pockets show through the fabric. the trench coat, on the other hand, is to die for and so are some of the dresses. it is a hit or miss. i would not recommend buying this line online.

A follow up to this post -- I finally had a chance to the shop the collection last week. Although I didn't love everything in the line, I did find the pants from the collection to be very well made and comfortable. At $35 or so a pair, they are a total steal!
