DIY: Wrapped in Merino

Feeling crafty? Virtually net, crochet, knit or purl your way into the Book of World Records! The Australian-based Woolmark Company launched the “Wrapped in Merino” campaign last week, inviting wool lovers to help make history by setting a new record for the World’s Longest Social Scarf. What’s so great about wool? Well, it’s a versatile and durable fiber that’s anti-microbial, anti-fungal, and anti-bacterial, so it stays cleaner and fresher longer than most other fabrics.

Here’s how “Wrapped in Merino” works: Each participant creates a small section of the scarf by adding their photo to the “Wrapped in Merino” website. (Check me out in the red box above!) The picture can then be shared it through Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter. If setting a new World Record isn’t quite enough to entice you, participants are also automatically entered to win one of eight fashion prize packs, including Net-A-Porter gift cards and Merino wool scarves.
