F4T: "Gordon Parks: 100 Years" at ICP

If you are looking to beat the heat this weekend, pop by the visually and physically cool galleries of the International Center of Photography. To commemorate the centennial of the birth of photographer Gordon Parks (1912–2006), the Center has organized Gordon Parks: 100 Years in cooperation with The Gordon Parks Foundation. On view through January 2013, the exhibition features a large-scale photo mural and more than 50 photographs that span Parks' long career. Although Parks spent twenty years as at photographer at Life magazine, he was also a very successful fashion photographer -- check out this dreamy Parks picture of a James Galanos chiffon dress from 1961 -- working for Vogue and co-founding and acting as editorial director at Essence Magazine in 1970. Want to see more? You can peruse a selection of Parks' fashion photos here.

P.S. To all of our American readers, Happy Memorial Day!

I've never heard about this photographer before, so I search some information about him and his photos and when I saw them I thought that he has done really good job. His photos are amazing :)
