Winning!

Tuesday, February 28

Two weeks ago, I excitedly posted about winning Rare Vintage's 5 Years, 5 Gifts contest. Founded in 2007 by Juliana Cairone, Rare Vintage specializes in vintage designer and couture pieces that transcend trends. A favorite of A-list celebrities, Rare dressed Natalie Portman in this amazing Dior gown for the 2012 Oscars.

Today I learned that my prize was this gorgeous 1970s peasant blouse by Koos Van Den Akker. Akker is known introducing "collage clothing" to America with his intricate patchwork garments. (He also designed Bill Cosby's now infamous colorful sweaters from The Cosby Show.) Don't you just love the colors? I can't wait to incorporate these beauty into my wardrobe.

And in other exciting giveaway news, Elsa D. of Café Society XXI rocked her new Body Central's Crystal Accented Disc Earrings, which she won in our giveaway last week, on her blog today. Check out her full post here and stay tuned for more giveaways!

Ooh, I love Natalie Portman's dress! I missed that one on the red carpet. I was really underwelmed by the Oscar dresses this year. Most of them looked like bridesmaids dresses, and the only exciting ones were all a light neutral, sparkly look. Did they all plan it ahead of time to make it a boring year??

That top on the other hand, not boring at all! It'll be so much fun to play with! Looks like you could wear straight through fall! Congrats!
