Tried and Tested: Fern Mallis' Fern Finds for QVC

Lynnie and I were very excited to find samples from Fern Mallis' "Fern Finds" collection for QVC on our porch this morning. Mallis famously founded New York Fashion Week, and is also well-known for her "more is more" method of dress, where she layers bracelets and necklaces to eye-catching effect. Her eclectic jewelry line is inspired by her life in the fashion and design industries and her own jewelry collection, which she amassed shopping in markets, boutiques, and bazaars around the world.

We loved the way the jewels were packaged, especially the beautifully woven cloth storage bags.

The first item we tried was the Multi Style Chain and Bead Necklace. Don't let the pictures fool you -- this piece is weighty, though in a very-well-made-not-uncomfortable way. We loved the necklace's mix of metals and textures... and so did our Mom, who quickly swiped it for her own jewelry collection. (Enjoy, Mom!)

Next up was my personal favorite, the Hammered and Floral Design Cuff. Inspired by Mallis' travels to India, the goldtone cuff's floral design is accented by the shimmer of paste diamonds and peridots with textured borders. The cuff perfectly fit our tiny wrists, but we worried that it might be snug on those with normal-sized appendages. I can't wait to pair it with a jewel-tone top and jeans for a casual night out.

Last but certainly not least, we tried Lynnie's favorite, the Simulated Pearl Cluster Drop Necklace. We loved this fresh take on the tasseled-necklace trend, and the necklace was surprisingly light-weight despite its many dangling pearl clusters. Lynnie plans on wearing it with a semi-sheer cotton tunic and shorts for summer.

the cuff is my favorite among all the pieces. In India most of the jewelry stores pack their stuff in such cloth bags,, they're very traditional Indian thing and a gr8 way to store jewelry
