Adventures: July 4th in Philadelphia

This year my boyfriend and I celebrated Independence Day in Philadelphia. The City of Brotherly Love hosts a party on Ben Franklin Parkway (above), which kicks off midday and concludes in the evening with a free outdoor concert and fireworks show over the Philadelphia Museum of Art. This year's performers included Estelle, Sara Bareilles, DJ Jazzy Jeff, The Roots, Boys II Men, Michael McDonald and Earth, Wind and Fire.

In addition to attending the parkway party we...

...feasted on barbecue at Jack's Firehouse on nearby Fairmount Avenue.

...explored the neighborhood. I wore my brand spanking new Matthew Williamson for Impulse romper, a steal from Macy's amazing July 4th sale. I paired it with Coach sunnies, a BCBG gold cuff, gold hoop earrings, a H&M bag, and Jack Rogers Navajo sandals. If you've been following Style, She Wrote since day #1 -- 1. thank you!!  and 2. you may remember these sandals from one of our first posts! They have worn in beautifully over the past few years.

...dined on Pillsbury's Stars and Stripes funfetti cupcakes, made by yours truly and my beau.

... and watched fireworks!!

S.S.W. Asks: How did you celebrate July 4th?

Stars and Stripes funfetti cupcakes? Genius! Looks like a perfect 4th-we spent ours in the airport. Maybe we'll have a do over this weekend!
